Fitness Trackers and HR Departments

We all know that the new fitness devices can be extremely helpful with keeping our New Year’s resolutions.

From the Fitbit, for tracking your steps taken and distance traveled, to the MyFitnessPal App, that helps you track you caloric intake and show how many calories you have remaining for the day, there are lots of options on the market. Now, many employers are starting to utilize this technology, and there are some questions and concerns being raised.

Rapport wants our clients to be aware of the potential privacy, labor, and security issues that may arise if they choose to utilize some of these devices.

This article from the February 16th, SHRM (Society For Human Resource Management) newsletter, will help put things into perspective.  This message is timely for all the employers that are trying to mitigate the cost of the continuously soaring cost of employee benefits.
