Chris is a Principal and co-founder of Rapport Benefits Group, a cutting-edge employee benefits consulting firm in Tacoma, Washington. Chris has been working with employers for over 10 years, assisting with everything from designing innovative benefit plans to taxation, implementation, and utilization. In addition to direct consulting, he works with insurance companies, accountants, and care providers to create new, more efficient healthcare finance models.
Chris has also found that his client’s best interests are not always being served by the State or Federal Legislatures. As a result, Chris began to engage and challenge Olympia and Washington, DC, to help create a more viable and sustainable healthcare system for all Americans. Chris serves as the Immediate Past-President for the Washington Association of Health Underwriters. He is serving a second term as an appointed member of the Washington State Insurance Commissioner’s Producer Advisory Committee and previously served on the Technical Advisory Committee for the Washington State Healthcare Authority’s Health Insurance Partnership (HIP). He also serves as the Chair of the Health Committee for the Washington Business Alliance to create innovative new models for care and care finance with the goal of making Washington the healthiest State in the Nation. Chris also serves on the board of directors for HopeSparks, a non-profit organization created to provide counseling services to low income families.
In his personal time, Chris enjoys camping, music, and participating in Rotary activities, including granting scholarships to high school seniors, and evaluating grants for local non-profits.
Christina is a Principal and co-founder of Rapport Benefits Group. Christina was instrumental in developing the service model for Rapport and continues to oversee the daily operations. In addition to managing the daily operations she leads the over-all strategic planning for long range service goals.
Christina began her career as a financial planner in the mid 90’s utilizing her series six securities license. In 2000 she moved into employee benefits with Business Benefits, an employee benefits consulting firm in Seattle, WA. She was later recruited by Marsh USA as a Benefits Producer and built her book of business over the next five years. In 2006 the climate was right to collaborate with Chris Free and create what is known today as Rapport Benefits Group.
Christina has a Bachelor of Arts, Major in Accounting, Minor in Business from Whitworth Presbyterian College in Spokane. In her personal time Christina enjoys her puppies and spending time with family and friends.
Beth has been an associate with Rapport Benefits for more than five years and is the newest Principal with the company. She specializes in helping seniors all over the Puget Sound area with their transition to Medicare insurance. Beth works with both individuals and corporations and helps them find the Medicare plan that best suits their lifestyle and needs. She works one on one with her clients and brings an incredible depth of knowledge and information to each person she works with. Prior to becoming part of the Rapport Benefits team she worked for a decade as a customer service and claims advocate and as head of the COBRA Department for a mid-size insurance agency.
In her spare time, Beth continues to remodel her 100+ year old home with the help of her yellow lab Duke. She is also passionate about helping youth by raising funds to provide educational materials for children and especially teens that otherwise would not have basic supplies for school. She works with Ballard High School and St. Vincent de Paul in a variety of programs aimed at education.
Having over eight years’ experience as a Human Resource Director managing the company’s self-funded health plan for 600 employees in four different states, then moving on to building self-funded health plans with third party administrators; Jan’s experiences have given her the ability to identify the needs of the client, develop the right solution and see it through. Consulting with small, medium, and large employer groups on healthcare options for their employees makes her job worthwhile. Jan believes that “companies know what they make; it’s not their job to know what kind of insurance to offer for their employees, that’s my job.”
Building customized employer sponsored health plans creates unique and cost saving alternatives to traditional health insurance. Jan has worked with large municipalities with over 1,200 employee lives down to small 75 employee life privately held law firms as well as several non-profit agencies to include; medical practices, early childhood development, and public defenders. She has also worked with medical practices integrating their own tier of healthcare treatment to off-set the cost of re-insurance. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from City University.

Jan has one college aged daughter, and two senior Labrador retrievers. She serves on the board of directors for a non-profit seasonal haunted attraction, “The Haunted Forest of Maple Valley”, that provides fundraising for youth organizations in the community and enjoys sewing, camping, back packing, and spending time with her dogs.
Venus has worked in Customer Service, Account Management and Sales for over 20 years. She was with Regence BlueShield for over 14 years before moving to a Sales position with Willamette Dental Group for more than three years. She loves sales, but her heart still belongs to employee training. Once she sells a product, the implementation and training on how to use the employee benefits to best serve the client and family is where her passion lies.
She is a member of The National Association of Health Underwriters, The Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber, and Society of Human Resource Management.
Venus has volunteered with many local non-profits to include the Washington State PTA and Tacoma Communities in Schools. With this passion for education, she recently joined the new SOAR academy as their Enrollment Team Coordinator.
She has been married for over 25 years and has two adult children. In her spare time, she and her family love taking trips to new and exciting places.
Lee entered the insurance business over 35 years ago, specializing in Disability insurance, Health insurance, Life Insurance and Long Term Care. He is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters, and the American Association of Long Term Care Insurance.
Lee manages the disability insurance for highly compensated employees for over 25 years. The disability plan design and administration is done in tandem with complex insurance policies, but Lee makes it easy.
